Tang Mei Yun Taiwanese Opera Company established in 1997, has been recruiting talent from theatre arts and other fields to make brand new and large-scale productions while adherening to the objective of “inheriting tradition and making a new miracle.”  With themes adapted from ancient, modern, Chinese, and western stories, productions of this company are famed for their diverse and wide-ranging artistic forms of expression.

The prolific troupe has produced a wealth of representative works such as Who is my Bride, which was the winner of the Traditional Opera Program Award at the 2007 Golden Bell Awards. Other productions, such as Love on Pregnancy, Somewhere for True Love, The Immortal Lover, and World of Crooks, were also short-listed for the Traditional Opera Program Award at the Golden Bell Awards in 2003, 2004, 2005, and 2006, respectively. The Tang Mei Yun Taiwanese Opera Company has been dedicated to producing exquisite Taiwanese Operas which encompass the beauty of traditional Taiwanese Opera and language used in modern theatre arts.

Tang Mei-yun, the renowned performer of male leading role in Taiwanese Opera, is the head, artistic director, and a leading performer of sheng(young male character) in this troupe. With the handsome face, the delicate skills in play,the charming voice, She is talented in looking into the characters and the stories, and play the roles with complicated and changing personalities. She is the winner of 36th Golden Bell Award for Best Leading Actress in a Television Series, and 16^th National Award for the Arts.
