Taxi driver, A Cui, is a nice, old push-over who always ends up being exploited. His social status is lower than his beautiful but estranged wife, and even his son has no respect for him. One day, A Cui picks up a teenager who is out for revenge. Not quick-witted enough to get away in time, he is forced to film a beating. Later, seeing photos taken by private investigators of his wife with other men, A Cui decides to stand up for himself. Just when he is ready to take action, fate plays a cruel trick on him.

Taxi Driver (2018) is a short film produced by PTS Originals, which aims to cultivate genre-bending content both original and local. The film is inspired by recent social events and the director’s own experience of living in urban Taiwan. The story takes place in a single day. Life’s trivial moments are meticulously arranged to create unexpected twists. It uses the visual language of a mystery thriller, and the lighting and composition create a chilling atmosphere for this emotional roller coaster ride.
