He is back. The one who used to explore Sirius and travel around the world like the ancient Chinese traveler XU Xia-Ke; the crane cremator with flaming eyes is back. He said that Xizi Bay would be his final resting place. Having planted deep roots in Kaohsiung, YU Guang-Zhong recites poetry to elementary school students, climbs the stone lion by the gateway to an old village at Huishan, and shouts into an old well in a childishly playful manner. While facing his wife, he unaffectedly reveals their abiding affection.
As the poet melodiously recites his poetry, the vibrant, rhythmic images in this film begin to bring out his literary inspirations, writing style, and journey in the literary world. YU Guang-Zhong may have written his classic poem Nostalgia in 20 minutes, but his emotions behind its words had been brewing for 20 years.
